Looking
up your property information when you have your assessment notice
These
instructions will help you locate your property information on our
real property data system. We recommend that you print this
page so that you can follow these instructions as you go.
Find your property account identification number from your assessment
notice. This is located above your name and address as shown on
the notice. Look for the information in the following format:

In the above example, the property account indentification number
consists of the county code 01,
the assessment district (in Baltimore City, called ward) 02
and account number 1234576890,
following the letters ACCT and the number sign.
ACCT# stands for account indentification number.
The county code identifies the county (or Baltimore City) in which
the property resides.

1. Once you have located your property account indentification
number, write down the county, district and account numbers.
Note: If your county code is 02 (Anne Arundel County)
or 03 (Baltimore City) your account number structure is different.

for Baltimore City. Write down the next two digits
(the assessment district number) and the remaining digits (account
number).

Click on Real Property Data in the center panel under Data
Search.

Select the county in which the property is located by matching
the county code to the respective name from the above County
Codes table. The county name can also be identified
by looking at SDAT's return address on the assessment notice.
The return address will be the SDAT office for the county
in which the property is located. For example, property located
in Garrett County will have the following return address:

Click on the button that says "Property Acct. ID"

Fill in the District and Account No. boxes, and click on "SEARCH"
Your account information will be shown in a few moments.

You can click on Go Back or New Search to look up other properties.
Special
Instructions for Anne Arundel County
Following
the ACCT#02 are the two digit assessment district,
the three digit subdivision code and the 8 digit account number.
You will need the district, subdivision, and account numbers to
search for your property.

Special
Instructions for Baltimore City
Following
the ACCT#03, are the two digit Ward, the two
digit Section, the Block (which consists of four digits and in
some cases followed by a letter), and the Lot (which consists
of three digits and in some cases followed by a letter). Each
of these indentifiers are separated with a space. You will need
Ward, Section, Block and Lot to search your property.
