Corporate Charter Division
Counter Service: Monday - Friday 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, Corporate Charter Division 301 West Preston Street, 8th Floor, Baltimore, Maryland.
All counter transactions are expedited and an expedited filing surcharge beyond the processing fee applies to each request. View the fee schedule for various services that are available to businesses and the general public at the Charter Division.
Public Access to DataPCs are available to the public in each local assessment office in order to allow free access to the Department's information.
Real Property data: Assessment and other property information is available online at any local assessment office. Searching the system is similar to our website's property data search. However there are a few exceptions. At the local office accounts may be accessed using any of the following search options: owner's name, premise address, map reference or property account number. The online View Map feature is not available at the local office locations. Paper copies of tax maps are available to users.Business data: Users can also access Charter and UCC information on businesses operating in Maryland by viewing the Taxpayers Services database. The information available includes names of owners, resident agent, principal address and status.

Real Property Database Search
Obtain ownership and value information about every parcel of real property in the State of Maryland (approximately 2,500,000 accounts) from this database, as well as sales of real property occurring within 3 years of the current date.
Business Database Search
Information for business security interest (UCC) filings; agent and personal property assessment information for corporations, limited liability companies, limited liability partnerships, limited partnerships, limited liability limited partnerships, professional corporations, and trade names
Certificate of Status
Print an official SDAT Certificate of Status from the online system. You can also choose to have a paper certificate and up to ten paper copies of the same certificate mailed to you the next business day.
Personal Property Filing Extensions
This service is available to businesses annually from February 1st to April 15th.Real Property Tax Assessment Appeals
Available annually for 45 days after the date printed on your mailed real property reassessment notice. You can view appeal process information on the SDAT website. Contact your county or Baltimore city assessment office if you have further questions.Homestead Eligibility Application
To help homeowners deal with large assessment increases on their principal residence, state law established the Homestead Property Tax Credit. A law enacted in 2007 requires all homeowners to submit a one-time application to establish continuing eligibility for the credit.

Public Release Data Files
SDAT has available for sale through a contractor, SpecPrint, Inc., copies of public release files. Maryland real property, corporate personal property, corporate charter and uniform commercial code data in various media formats through SpecPrint.
Corporate Master File - this file contains information regarding corporations, limited partnerships, limited liability companies, limited liability partnerships and trade names. All corporations which were active since 1982 are listed. Trade name information includes the name and address of the filer, initial date of the filing and the date any subsequent amendments were filed. Information on all other business entities includes principal office, resident agent, resident agent address, and the date and type of any subsequent amendments filed. Both foreign and domestic business entities are included.Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) File - This file includes the name of the debtor and secured party for each financing statement filed with SDAT since 1983. It also includes the date of any subsequent amendment filed.
Real Property Public Data Record - for all counties - these files include ownership information, property full cash values, property assessments, and property locations.
Computer Assisted Mass Appraisal (CAMA) File - These files include property attributes of individual properties and include a detailed description of each property.
Real Property Sales File - this file contains on a cumulative basis all accounts in Maryland (statewide) that were transferred (sold) during the previous 12 months.

In addition to these complete files being available on magnetic tape, selected data elements of this file information can also be produced on either paper or diskette using the specific file selection and sorting criteria requested by customers. The costs for these selection reports will be based on $.04 per account selected with a minimum service charge of $40. The schedules for the creation of these files for duplication are as follows:
